On our female riders tours – known on our old website as the Female Riders Eco Tour – you sit behind one of the Green Sisters, our team of local women riders and guides, on a quiet electric scooter. Your guide is a woman too, so you see Hanoi through the eyes of the people who grew up in it: family life in the Old Quarter, the food their mothers cooked and the stories behind each district.

You are the passenger – no licence needed

This is a pillion tour. A professional female rider does all the riding and you sit behind her, wearing the helmet we provide. You do not need a driving licence, an international permit or any experience on a motorbike, and you never have to handle Hanoi’s traffic yourself. Each guest has their own rider, so couples and friends ride side by side in a small convoy led by the guide.

Many of our guests are solo women travellers, mothers and daughters, and people who are simply nervous about the traffic. Riding with a local woman who knows every street feels calm and personal, and conversations flow easily at every stop.

Why electric scooters?

Hanoi has millions of motorbikes, and the noise and exhaust are part of the city’s air pollution problem. Our electric scooters are almost silent and produce no exhaust on the road, so the ride is smoother and quieter – you can actually hear your guide – and you leave less behind. Hanoi itself plans to move its historic centre away from petrol motorbikes over the coming years, so riding electric is also a glimpse of the city’s future.

Four ways to ride with the Green Sisters

Choose the two-hour city highlights tour if you are short on time; the half-day city tour with a family visit on Banana Island, lunch and coffee on Hanoi Train Street; the street food tour with sunset on Long Bien Bridge, Banh Cuon, Banh Mi and Bun Cha; or a half day in the countryside at Co Loa Citadel with a lotus garden, egg coffee and Bun Cha. Compare times and prices in the tour list below.

Riders and guides in the traditional ao dai

On every Green Sisters tour your riders and your guide wear the ao dai, the traditional long dress of Vietnamese women. It makes the ride feel special, gives you beautiful photos along the way and is a proud part of how our team welcomes guests to their city.

Looking for a bike you pedal yourself? We also run guided e-bike tours.

["post-210","page","type-page","status-publish
["GET
