It is not a historic site \u2013 the ancient capital of Hoa Lu is 12 km away \u2013 but it has become the city\u2019s evening meeting place.<\/p>\n<p>After dark the pagoda-style towers, bridges and lanterns are lit and reflected in the lake, small boats take visitors across the water, and there are caf\u00e9s, food stalls and, on some evenings, music and performances.<\/p>\n<h2>What to do at Hoa Lu Old Town<\/h2>\n<p>Walk round the lake, take a short boat ride to see the lights from the water, and eat at one of the restaurants around the square.
