About Mega Grand World Hanoi
Mega Grand World Hanoi is a large themed shopping, dining and entertainment district in the Ocean City development, between Vinhomes Ocean Park 2 and Ocean Park 3. Strictly speaking it is just over the border in Van Giang, Hung Yen, but it is only about 20–25 km east of the Old Quarter and is marketed as part of Hanoi. It opened at the end of 2023 and quickly became one of the city’s favourite photo spots.
Entry to Mega Grand World is free. You pay only for what you do inside: a gondola ride, food, shopping or rides. The area is open all day, though shops, cafés and boats keep their own hours.
Grand Venice, K-Town and more
The centrepiece is an Italian-style quarter built around an artificial canal of about 830 m, lined with pastel façades, bridges and cafés. Gondolas glide up and down the canal, and a pedestrian bridge gives a view over the whole scene. Nearby, K-Town recreates Korean shopping streets with K-pop music, Korean food and fashion, and a neon Hong Kong-inspired street is at its best after dark.
Night shows
In the evening, the canal becomes a stage. The Grand Voyage, a show on a boat stage with 3D projection mapping, water screens, music and dozens of performers, is the main attraction; lighting and music performances also run on some nights. Show times and days change, so check the schedule on the day.
Our Mega Grand World Instagram tour goes by vintage army jeep, green limo or motorbike, with a guide who knows the best angles. Choose the 17:00 departure to see golden hour, the neon lights and the 3D mapping show.
Is Mega Grand World worth visiting?
Yes, if you like lively, photogenic places and evening lights. Entry is free and you pay only for what you do – a gondola on the Venice-style canal, food, shopping or the night show. It is at its best from late afternoon into the evening, when golden hour, the neon streets and the Grand Voyage 3D-mapping show come alive. It is about 20 to 25 km east of the Old Quarter, just over the border in Hung Yen but marketed as part of Hanoi.
