Frequently asked questions
Is hotel pickup included?
Most Hanoi tours include free hotel pickup in the Old Quarter. If you stay outside the Old Quarter, we meet you at 46 Nguyen Huu Huan Street or at Hanoi Opera House. Sapa tours start at Sapa Stone Church, with pickup from hotels in central Sapa on request.
Do I need a driving licence?
No. On jeep, scooter and motorbike tours you ride as a passenger with a professional local driver or rider, and helmets are provided. On the self-drive ATV and e-bike tours you get a safety briefing before you set off.
How do I pay?
Sending a booking request is free. A small deposit (10–15% of the total) secures your spot, and you pay the rest on the tour day in cash (USD or VND) or by bank transfer.
Can I change my tour date?
Yes. Deposits are non-refundable, but you can move your tour to another date, subject to availability. Just message us on WhatsApp.
What happens if it rains?
Tours run in rain or shine. We provide rain ponchos, and your guide may change the order of stops to keep you comfortable. In unsafe weather we will move your tour to another time or refund you in full.
What is the difference between the group and the private tour?
On the group tour you may share the experience with a few other travellers. The private tour is just for your party, with your own guide and vehicle, and the timing can be adapted to you.
How much do children pay?
Children aged 5–8 pay 75% of the adult price and children under 5 join for free. From age 9 the adult price applies. For motorbike tours, message us before booking with young children so we can advise on the safest option.
Who are the female riders?
Our riders are local women trained and employed by Eco Trip Asia. Many guests, especially solo women travellers and families, tell us they feel relaxed and safe riding with them.
