Full description
Leave the city early and spend the day in the limestone country of Ninh Binh, about two hours south of Hanoi. A comfortable limousine van picks you up from your hotel in the Old Quarter. In Ninh Binh you swap to an open-air vintage army jeep and spend about two hours on the back lanes between rice fields and villages, stopping at Thai Vi Temple, built for the Tran kings, and the three cliff pagodas of Bich Dong.
After a Vietnamese set lunch, a local rower takes you on the 2-hour boat trip through the three river caves of Tam Coc. The day ends with the climb of about 500 stone steps to the dragon on top of Hang Mua, the best view in Ninh Binh, before the drive back to Hanoi.
Why travellers pick this Ninh Binh jeep tour
Most Ninh Binh day trips go by coach from sight to sight. On this tour the jeep takes you off the main road into the countryside, with time for photos in the fields and at the temples, and a small group or a private jeep instead of a bus. Everything is included: transfer, jeep, guide, lunch, boat and entrance tickets, with VAT. Every booking includes free date changes subject to availability and transparent pricing with no hidden fees.
Who this tour is for
It suits first-time visitors who want to see the highlights of Ninh Binh in one day, photographers, couples and families. The Hang Mua climb is optional: you can wait at the bottom by the lotus pond. If you are already staying in Ninh Binh, you can meet us at Tam Coc or be picked up from your hotel there.
