We did the morning Jeep tour through Hanoi backstreets and Banana Island with Eco Trip Asia. Outstanding service! Our driver was skilled and navigating Hanoi traffic was actually a breeze. The coffee stop at the railway track was unforgettable. Highly recommended!

We thoroughly enjoyed our morning with Liam and our driver, who wove us in and out of traffic like an expert. The inclusion of a stop on Banana Island for tea, bananas and a peanut snack let us see a different side of this busy city. Cold, bottled water was welcome on a warm day and lunch was tasty. Liam was personable and informative. 😊

If you only have a short period of time in Hanoi, this is a great fast and furious tour, shows you the land marks, plus a bit of back street culture and the train. It was great fun and the trip to the B52 museum was pretty impressive. I recommend this short but sweet trip and our guide, Bee, was great, excellent English!

Brilliant half day tour in Hanoi! The guide spoke great English, answered every question about Vietnamese lifestyle and culture, and the vintage open-top vehicle made it super fun and breezy in the summer heat.

Full description
Muong Hoa Valley is the postcard view of Sapa — terraced rice fields stepping down to a river, framed by the Hoang Lien Son mountains. This half-day Sapa Jeep tour takes you into the heart of it in an open-air army Jeep, so you feel the mountain air while your driver handles the steep, winding road.
From a lookout high above the valley you take in the whole panorama, then leave the Jeep for an easy village walk from Lao Chai, a Black H’mong community, to Ta Van, home of the Giay people. You stop for coffee beside a mountain stream before the Jeep climbs back up to Moana’s viewpoints for photos. It is the easiest way to see Sapa’s terraces and villages without a long trek, and it suits all ages.
Want to see the high mountains too? Combine it with our O Quy Ho Pass Jeep tour or choose the full-day Sapa Jeep tour.

Frequently asked questions
How much walking is there?
Only a short, easy walk between Lao Chai and Ta Van on village paths. The Jeep covers the rest, so the tour suits most fitness levels.
Is the Jeep private?
Yes. Each Jeep carries 2–6 guests from the same booking with its own driver and English-speaking guide. Larger groups travel in several Jeeps together.
When are the rice terraces most beautiful?
The terraces fill with water around April–May, turn bright green from June to August and golden just before the harvest in September. The valley is beautiful all year round.
Where does the tour start?
All Sapa tours start and finish at Sapa Stone Church in the town centre. If you stay in central Sapa, add your hotel name when booking and we can pick you up.
What if the weather is bad?
Tours run in light rain and mist, which is part of Sapa's character. If storms, landslides or road closures mean we have to cancel, you can move your tour to another date free of charge or choose a full refund. If the tour goes ahead and you decide not to join, the deposit is not refundable, but you can still change your date.
How much do children pay?
Children aged 5–8 pay 75% of the adult price and children under 5 join for free. From age 9 the adult price applies.
Can I change my date or cancel?
Deposits are non-refundable, but you can move your tour to another date, subject to availability.
Do I have to pay now?
Send a booking request for free. A small deposit secures your spot; the rest is paid on the tour day in cash (USD or VND) or by bank transfer.
